November is here, and while it’s nice to cozy up on the couch and catch up on the fall line-up of shows and Netflix, there are a few events worth getting out for. Bundle up, put on the wellies, set the PVR, and we’ll see you out there.

GLOW: EL Wire Workshop

Neon is becoming a popular theme for local events, ranging from the neon run to the neon paint party! Let’s put a little “GLOW” to the everyday life with a fun little workshop, featuring a local west end artist! Andrea Arnot will be teaching the basics of decorating your favorite item with el wire. El wire is a battery-powered illuminated tubing which can be used on clothing as well as equipments. This is perfect to add a touch of style and safety while riding in the dark!

Nikkei Place Japanese Craft Fair

Halloween is over, time to get started on some Christmas shopping! Stop by the Japanese Craft fair for some cute little gifts for your friends this year. The annual Japanese Craft Fair features a number of unique, one-of-a-kind items made from traditional to contemporary textiles. If you don’t know what your giftee likes, buy them a treat. No one can resist sweets, especially those with a sweet tooth!

Vancouver Maritime Museum

The Maritime Museum is located in Kitsilano, behind the sandy beaches overlooking a  very actively used dog park. The scenic walk from the bus stop to the museum is simply breathtaking. The current exhibit, “Where Land and Water Meet” features a number of historical & modern photographic comparisons of Vancouver’s water lines.

LIGHT: Illuminating Science and Art

Science World is an amazing place filled with cool scientific stories behind each discovery. With new and existing scientific exhibitions, every visit is a new learning experience.
