Mega list of free water parks in Vancouver (with map)

Hooray, summer is here! It’s time for carefree afternoons under the sun, family picnics in the park – and of course, visits to the water park. These local water and spray parks we’ve rounded up are free to visit and have public bathrooms nearby (an essential for a seamless kid outing). Check out this handy map to see which ones are near you. We hope you have a chance to hit up a few this summer.

Granville Island Water Park (Vancouver West)

A Vancouver favourite with multiple sprays and fountains, an adjacent playground, and a smorgasbord of eats nearby.

Variety Kids Water Park (Downtown)

This is the popular water park found at Lumberman’s Arch next to the Seawall. It’s surrounded by grassy areas, a concession stand, and picnic tables. Ideally for 10 years and under.

Habour Green Park (Downtown)

Tucked into the edge of Coal Harbour, this water park is ultra scenic. Watch floatplanes come and go or have a drink at Mill Marine Bistro Restaurant while your kids splash around.

Connaught Park (Kitsilano)

This spray park was recently upgraded in 2020. It’s lined with trees and there are always soccer and softball games going on. There are plenty of shady benches too.

Chaldecott Park (Dunbar)

A low-key neighbourhood spray park with a small play area and large playing fields. The waterpark and washrooms are located in the southeast corner of the park.

Prince Edward Park (Vancouver East)

Very popular playground and splash pad at David Livingstone Elementary School. They have a couple of big trees for shade, a big open grassy field, and a playground for big and little kids.

Wesbrook Village (UBC)

If you haven’t explored Wesbrook Village at UBC lately, you’re in for a treat. There are shops, services, restaurants, a grocery store, green space – and a cute little splash park for your littles. Several parks, playgrounds, and water features are also within walking distance: Nobel Park, Mundell Park, and Smith Park.
