New Ping Pong Bar Open in Gastown, Vancouver
Where do you go when you want to head out downtown but keep it super mellow? Tucked away on the edge of Gastown on Columbia Street, Back and Forth Bar opened up earlier this month and is made for the ultimate casual hangs. We popped in recently and immediately felt at home among the colorfully patterned walls, ping pong tables, board games, and plush retro couches to sink into.
Inspired by similar bars in Toronto, owner Regan Truong (former operating partner at Donnelly Group) decided to open up a space for people to just kick it. The drink menu is heavy on local beer and wine on tap, and a full but cocktail-free hard bar. What their food menu lacks (dorm room munchies vibes – chips, pizza pockets, Chef Boyardee) is made up for in an refreshingly open food policy – you’re encouraged to bring your own takeaway or get food delivered. Call up your chillest friends, pick up some take out from nearby Nicli Antica or Joe Pizza, and game on.
Back and Forth Bar is located at 303 Columbia Street (at Cordova) and is currently open from 4pm-2am Sunday to Thursday and 4pm-3am Friday & Saturday.
