September 2012 – Former Yale Hotel owners are back on the Granville Entertainment strip with their new venture, FanClub. Open 7 days a week with live music daily, Fan Club boasts a 32 multi-track recording and camera recording system, and features an entertainment roster that smoothly transitions from a piano bar dining room, to a jazz band trio over cocktails, then into the night with higher energy DJs. Expect a bit of New Orleans flair with rockabilly cabarets, and special burlesque and cirque performances.
What we saw: Couples dancing to Mike Van Eyes Band
What we tried: Roaring Twenties Sauvignon Blanc from their wines on tap list (which, if you haven’t tried yet, you should. Do not equate this with wine from a box – this hot new trend keeps wines tasting fresher than from a bottle!) Cajun Creole prawns, grilled vegetable terrine, smoked ribs with yam fries, slider trio. The smoked veggie terrine was the star of the show – we were shocked at how this meatless dish packed a punch.
What we loved: Nothing on their food menu is over $15, and with their grand opening 2-for-1 food special between noon and 6pm, now is a really good time to check this place out.
