The first-ever Fortune Food Fair at Fortune Sound Club this past weekend was a huge success! Big thanks for joining us; it was fantastic to see everyone (many of whom have celebrated CNY with us for the past few years!) Evidently, not even subzero temperatures could come between 600+ of you to gather over a delicious meal. By 11am, the Chinatown parade was lighting up the streets and we had a lineup at the door!
We kicked off Chinese New Year with rounds of yummy food and drinks, featuring DD Mau, Bao Down, West Coast Poke, Pop Up Bar YVR, Asomi Mochi, Maria’s Payalok, and Dicky’s Dumps Wonton Station (which sold out before the event was over). Special shout out to Mah Society for blessing us with a traditional lion dance that everyone loved. Thanks as always to our gracious co-presenters Fortune Sound Club for being a great partner in hosting community events.
Feel-good tidbit: Maria Ticinovic Gamboa is donating profits from her Filipino food booth ($300) to BC Children’s Hospital. How amazing is that?
