Emily in Paris-themed dinners & classes at PICA

The culinary team at Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts (PICA) will transport food lovers to the City of Light and pay tribute to the hit Netflix show Emily in Paris via pop-up dinners and culinary classes taking centre stage at the campus in August and September.

The Emily in Paris-themed events—which coincide with the release of season five episodes on August 15 and September 12—include pop-up dinners on Thursday, August 29, and Thursday, September 19, a cooking class on Saturday, September 14, and a pastry and dessert class on Saturday, September 21.

The four Emily in Paris-themed events at PICA include:

A limited number of tickets to the Emily in Paris pop-ups are available for $139 per person plus tax for Aug. 29 here and Sept. 19 here. Due to the nature of this special event, PICA is unable to accommodate dietary restrictions and menu substitutions may occur due to availability. EMILY IN PARIS PASTRY & DESSERT CLASS | Saturday, September 21, 10 am to 2 pm

During this hands-on class, guests will indulge in the same delicious and decadent pastries as the titular character of Emily in Paris and learn how to create flaky, fall-apart pastries, rich and silky chocolate mousse, and the perfectly caramelized sugar crust that crowns quintessential French dessert crème brûlée.

Participants will work in pairs and prepare Emily’s Favourite Pain au Chocolat, Croissants inspired by Paris’ La Boulangerie Moderne, Classic Chocolate Mousse from Chez Janou and Pierre’s Cracked Crème Brûlée. Participants will receive a PICA apron to take home and are asked to bring containers to take extras home from the class. Tickets are available for $195 per person plus tax here.

EMILY IN PARIS COOKING CLASS | Saturday, September 14, 10am to 2pm

PICA will transport guests to the twinkling lights of the Eiffel Tower, the cobblestone streets, bateaux mouches gliding placidly along the Seine and fashionable Parisians taking a nightly promenade with this hands-on cooking class that recreates traditional and time-honoured classic dishes.

The menu includes Soupe à L’Ongion Gratinée, Gabriel’s Coq au Vin, Pommes Purée Super Crèmeux and the famed Café de Flore dessert staple Moelleux au ChocolatParticipants will receive a PICA apron to take home and are asked to bring containers to take extras home from the class. Tickets are available for $225 per person plus tax here.
