This summer’s expanded CREATE! Eastside Arts Festival, Eastside Arts Society’s (EAS) sister event to the Eastside Culture Crawl, takes place July 22-28, 2024.
The 4th annual festival is back with a newly expanded, immersive edition. It celebrates the diversity of performing and visual arts in Vancouver’s Eastside Arts District (EAD) by partnering with fellow Eastside venues, organizations, breweries, and studios to co-present a series of arts workshops, live music, dance, and comedy performances, and live mural painting at various locations across the EAD throughout the week. Participating workshop artists include Naomi Yamamoto, Kat McPhee, Candice Weber, Angel Kao, Jay Groening, Pilar Mehlis, Ava Katz, and Jhoely Triana.
The festival will also return with an expanded version of its traditional all-day outdoor festivities at Strathcona Park on Saturday, July 27. This will include a series of arts workshops, a beer garden, public art activations, an art shop, and—new this year—a concert stage featuring homegrown artists Haleluya Hailu, Fur Trade, and Sarah Jane Scouten.
