Did you know that the amaro cocktail the Paper Pla Did you know that the amaro cocktail the Paper Plane was invented in NYC in 2008, and its name was inspired by the M.I.A. song? Amaro Masterclass, part of the incredible lineup at Vancouver Cocktail Week presented by @thealchemistmag. We got an intimate look into the world of amaro — from the origins of Italian bitter liqueurs to the botanical complexity that makes each one so distinct. We tasted through a carefully curated lineup, traced the history behind each pour, surrounded by genuinely curious people who love a good drink as much as they love learning about it. Equal parts classroom and cocktail hour, the best of both worlds! Thanks to @j.smolensky for hosting such a thoughtful and engaging class, and @carlino.restaurant serving up Paper Plane cocktails and snacks to set the tone for our aperitivo hour.
