This is one of those hyperlocal projects that deserve some limelight – A Good Book Drive is an annual children’s book drive that takes place every November to collect books and share stories with our next generation of readers.
It’s pretty straight forward – go to your favourite local bookshop, pick up a new book, and drop it off at a designated drop-off location. The goal is to raise 3,000 books this month. Donations will go to ONE TO ONE, a local children’s literacy program that pairs volunteers with elementary school children who often receive little or no literacy support at home.
As bookworms ourselves, it has been fun to watch this project grow over the past four years. From Seuss to Silverstein and Harry Potter to Beatrix Potter, the choices are truly endless.
