SUMMARY:Blustery Fraser Canyon
DESCRIPTION:Super Weekend is a monthly program geared toward families. There are lots of activities that explore different features of the Fraser River\, from its booming industry to its diverse ecosystem! \nThe Fraser Canyon is known for having some of the strongest winds along the Fraser River\, with the windiest periods typically occurring during the winter and spring months. SUMMARY:Wood Wide Web
DESCRIPTION:Super Weekend is a monthly program for families. There are lots of activities that explore different features of the Fraser River\, from its booming industry to its diverse ecosystem! \nDid you know that up to 90% of vascular land plants are connected underground by mycorrhizal fungi? These fungi help plants share nutrients and even communicate with each other through an incredible “wood wide web” network. The visible “fruits” of these fungi are the mushrooms we see above ground! \nJoin us on November 29th–30th to uncover the hidden connections beneath the forest floor. Discover how mushrooms and fungi act as nature’s communication system\, connecting trees and plants along the Fraser River. Learn about local mushroom species; explore their fascinating roles in the ecosystem; discover the tasty ways they can be used; and celebrate the cool\, wet season that brings them to life! \n– Learn how fungi connect the forest through the wood wide web!\n– Identify some local mushrooms and discover the delicious ways they can be used.\n– Create your own mushroom print to take home! \nSaturday – Sunday\, November 29th – 30th\, 10:00am – 4:00pm \nCaretakers are asked to remain with their children for the duration of their visit \n\n\n	Related
