DESCRIPTION:On June 29th\, the Chinatown Storytelling Centre will open “Our Journey Continues: 100 Years After the Chinese Immigration Act”\, a new special exhibit dedicated to honouring the multigenerational families who pursued their dreams and turned grievances into success. \nThe exhibit shares the lesser-known stories of families with ancestors who lived through the period of exclusion (1923-1947) and the living descendants making their mark in diverse professions. In selecting the stories\, the CSC spotlights ordinary people who are making an important impact in our community today\, including teachers\, doctors\, athletes\, artists\, and community organizers. The majority of the families have a connection to Vancouver’s Chinatown\, the vibrant intersection point of their extraordinary stories reflecting diverse occupations and backgrounds.

The funds raised locally stay local—net proceeds from every Blizzard Treat sold at participating DQ locations in Vancouver will be donated to BC Children’s Hospital Foundation\, one of 12 Children’s Miracle Network hospital foundations across Canada. \nIn 2022 alone\, local children’s hospitals across Canada delivered care to children through more than three million in-person and virtual visits. DQ employees\, franchisees\, volunteers and stakeholders come together throughout the year to help raise funds that allow children’s hospitals to provide the best care possible. Since the partnership began 39 years ago in 1984\, DQ has become a top contributor to Children’s Miracle Network\, with over $48 million raised to date in Canada.

Our camp also includes a variety of interactive activities that keep kids engaged and entertained. From music and storytelling to games and arts and crafts\, our camp is the perfect balance of education and fun. \nOur goal is to help kids develop greater flexibility\, strength\, and balance\, while also promoting mindfulness and stress relief.
