SUMMARY:Wake the Dead: An Immersive Murder Mystery
DESCRIPTION:Wake the Dead: Chapter 3 of our Murder is a Drag series returns on April 5th! Wake the Dead is an immersive murder mystery dinner show with clues to collect and puzzles to solve. Can you solve the murder? \nThe Culinary Experience: This event takes place in downtown Vancouver inside the Delta Hotels Vancouver Downtown Suites in collaboration with our friends at Stock & Supply restaurant. Tickets include a 2 course dinner put together by Chef Jones\, whose dedication to local\, seasonal ingredients create exceptional dining experiences. \nHow It Works\nThe doors opens 90 minutes before the show starts – plan to arrive early to get your orders in to the servers before the show begins. Your chances of being offered a role in the mystery (a line to say\, a prop to use\, etc) are also better if you get there early. \nThis is a collaborative and social experience – you may be seated at a table with other people. You can choose to solve the mystery together as a team or on your own\, it’s up to you. If you want to be seated together\, it is best to purchase your tickets together and arrive early. \nYou don’t have to participate\, you can just watch the show – if you just want to watch the show just let us know. \nYou will be seated during this experience – players are seated at tables in a restaurant setting and the mystery will unfold around you. There is a stage area but the cast will also move around the room. The servers at the venue will serve you food/drinks at your table but there will also be a bar set up so you can order drinks yourself. You can get up at any time during the show as long as you are not disrupting the show and there are also two intermissions. \nThere are puzzles to solve – this is a Vancouver Mysteries experience after all! During the first intermission your table will receive a puzzle to solve – it will reveal an important clue to the mystery! \nCostumes are encouraged (but optional) – You are attending a memorial service so wear whatever that means to you. If you have questions about this get in touch. You can decide if you are friends\, colleagues\, employees or family of the deceased. \nCan you pick the murderer? During the 2nd intermission everyone has a chance to vote for the suspect they think is the murderer. \nTime – Arrive at 6:30PM for drinks. Order your dinner and perhaps get assigned a role! Showtime: 8PM Extend you night out\, show your event confirmation and get 15% off at Stock & Supply on the lobby level: make reservations at Stock & Supply for before or after the show here. \nDelta Hotels Marriott Location – 550 West Hastings Street (3 minute walk from Waterfront Station) \nPrice – $110 per person (plus fees\, taxes and gratuity). You have the option to add-on bottles of wine during the ticket purchase or any time up to 24 hours before the show (just reply back from your booking confirmation). Note: If you order additional drinks/food the restaurant will bill you directly at the venue. Credit card only. As a private event\, additional orders at the venue will likely be subject to the automatic gratuity – please check with your server. \nDuration – this experience lasts approximately 3.5 hours. The total show time is 90 minutes but the doors open 90 minutes before the show begins and there are photo opportunities with the cast after the show (plan to arrive before show time to order your dinner or get a role in the show). \nCapacity – there are limited seats available for each show and they are first come\, first serve (purchase of tickets is required to reserve your spot). Maximum 14 tickets per group. Larger groups please contact us to inquire about a private show. \nAllergies – please let us know asap about any allergies by replying back to your booking confirmation if you have any allergies/restrictions and we will pass that information along to the restaurant. Please also tell your server about allergies when you order. \nAccessiblity – the venue for this event is the 2nd floor of the Delta Hotels by Marriott Vancouver Downtown Suites and has an elevator. To avoid stairs\, please use the main hotel entrance at 438 Seymour Street. There are loud musical performances as well as quieter discussions\, low lighting in the room and some puzzles require fine motor skills or ability to read fine print. SUMMARY:A History of Motown
DESCRIPTION:The Firehall Arts Centre is pleased to present A History of Motown by soul songstress Krystle Dos Santos from Wednesday\, April 2 to Sunday\, April 13\, 2025. \nExperience the soulful sounds of Motown in a mesmerizing concert starring the multi-award-winning Krystle Dos Santos. A History of Motown takes audiences of all ages on a musical journey through the legendary hits that defined an era and shaped the sound of a generation. From the infectious rhythms of The Supremes to the timeless melodies of Stevie Wonder\, Dos Santos brings the magic of Motown to life with her powerhouse vocals and captivating stage presence. \nDos Santos adds\, “I’ve been listening to Motown music my whole life\, and one of the biggest connections I have is to Stevie Wonder and his music. When I was four years old\, I was reading the record jacket to ‘Part-Time Lover’ and learning every word. People would often compare me to Diana Ross and there was always the connection there – culturally\, visually\, and musically – to Motown music for me growing up\, so playing this music is such an honour and feels like it’s a part of me that gets to kind of pay it forward.”
