SUMMARY:Serbian Days
DESCRIPTION:Experience Serbia at Serbian Days Vancouver! For decades\, we have been the most attended local Serbian event\, where we present our community\, religion\, history and culture to all of our neighbours in Vancouver and surrounding areas. \nSerbia is well-known for its grilled meats\, homemade specialties and strong spirits. Saint Sava Serbian Community invites you to enjoy a weekend of exciting performances\, live music\, fun activities\, delicious food\, competitions and much more! Come and “Experience Serbia”\, by smell\, taste\, sight and sound!

SUMMARY:The Play That Goes Wrong
DESCRIPTION:Black Box Theatre Co. is bringing THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG to the Waterfront Theatre on Granville Island in Vancouver\, BC from August 13 to 30\, 2025. This brilliant piece of theatre blends farce and physical comedy with a good old murder mystery. It’s like Agatha Christie meets Monty Python. \nThe story takes place on the opening night of the Cornley Drama Society’s production of The Murder at Haversham Manor – a 1920s large cast murder mystery play\, similar to The Mousetrap. Unfortunately for the cast\, but to the delight of audiences\, the Cornley Drama Society is renowned for overestimating their abilities and for enduring mishaps during their productions\, and we soon find out this performance is no different. \nIf you’re looking for a fun night out this summer for friends\, family\, out-of-towners\, a date\, or just for yourself\, look no further than THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG on Granville Island. Or\, as we’re calling it\, Granville Island Goes Wrong. Recommended for ages 8+. \nThis award-winning play was written by Henry Lewis\, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields of Mischief Theatre Company and was first produced in London\, England in 2012. It’s currently enjoying long-running\, successful productions both in London and on Broadway in New York City\, and it is regularly produced by theatre companies all around the world to audiences who just can’t get enough of it. Get your tickets now!

SUMMARY:Chan Centre Presents: esperanza spalding
DESCRIPTION:Grammy-winning American bassist\, vocalist\, and composer known for her unique mix of jazz\, Brazilian\, Afro-Cuban\, and funk influences. \nesperanza spalding is an artist in constant evolution. Best known as a bassist\, vocalist\, and composer\, her work spans disciplines beyond music. Through dance\, therapeutic research\, regenerative agriculture\, and more\, she explores the power of transformation through the abstract. Born and raised in Portland\, Oregon\, esperanza is a five-time Grammy Award winner and 2024 Doris Duke Artist Award recipient\, whose acclaimed albums 12 Little Spells and Songwrights Apothecary Lab expertly weave jazz and art rock with Afro-Latin styles to create an expansive blend of sounds. \nesperanza is the co-founder of Prismid Sanctuary\, a non-profit artist residency and workshop space in Portland\, where she leads residencies. From Wayne Shorter and Milton Nascimento\, to Q-Tip and Janelle Monáe\, her collaborators span genres and generations\, and she continues to open new artistic terrain—inviting audiences not just to listen\, but to imagine\, question\, and expand what music can do. \nFresh from a twelve-night residency at New York’s legendary Blue Note Jazz Club\, esperanza’s Chan Centre debut will emphasize the simplicity and intimacy of her voice\, bass\, and catalogue. This concert will feature a special configuration of musicians performing selections from all eight of her previous albums and current releases\, plus a special preview of her forthcoming project.
