SUMMARY:Reid Jamieson & CVM Songbird Sessions @ Irish Heather
DESCRIPTION:Only YOU can keep live music alive! mix of compelling originals and killer covers\, trying out new tunes and digging up old gems\, tears and laughter\, anything goes! Nothing traditional about it – and all about the song. We aim to create connection at this legendary pub now located in Chinatown – just a 10 minute walk from the Main St/Chinatown Skytrain. We perform downstairs where the sound is fantastic\, the food and drink delicious\, and the show is over blissfully early. Date night done right! With special guests dropping in – anything can happen in the Scéal Eile!\n=\nThe Irish Heather presents:\nReid Jamieson & CVM – Songbird Sessions\nThu June 11\, 2026\n7pm-9pm FREE / PWYC\nThe Irish Heather (downstairs at the Scéal Eile)\n248 E Georgia St. Vancouver BC\n604-688-9779 reso@irishheather.com\nhttps://www.irishheather.com \nSongbird Sessions Vancouver \n \nLISTEN: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2N3lamQmYCqb5V8RqD9phs?si=c4c554a6b9714a3e \nWATCH: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_37NbEFgR8DY4wii4EUY2QbAyOjirY_L \nREID JAMIESON & CVM (Vancouver acoustic duo)\nhttps://linktr.ee/reidjamieson | https://reidjamieson.com/media-kit \n“Gorgeous\, sun-struck acoustic soul”- Globe & Mail \n“Prepare to be surprised” – Vancouver Province \nVancouver’s Reid Jamieson & CVM are a vocal powerhouse making music that matters and moves us. With an incredible voice\, spirited guitar playing\, and a magical way with melodies\, Reid is that rare songbird whose originals are every bit as compelling as his interpretations. In years past\, Reid was a regular on CBC’s Vinyl Café\, has recorded with Cowboy Junkies\, and performed with Mary Margaret O’Hara\, members of Blue Rodeo\, Be Good Tanyas and more. A classic introvert/extrovert combo\, Reid shines alongside his saucy wife and long-time songwriting partner Carolyn Victoria Mill\, where their unique harmonies and swapping of lead vocals make for an eclectic\, entertaining\, and sometimes heartbreaking variety show. Together they won the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and wrote their way in to the Vancouver Folk Festival by winning 1st place in their Pickin’ a Folk Star contest. Tireless promoters of voting\, equality\, and love\, they thrive on creating intimacy\, causing tears and laughter in equal measures. Their latest all original album ‘Me Daza’ was recorded in Ireland with producer Kieran Kennedy (Maria Doyle Kennedy) which features the posthumous (!) vocals of Fergus O’Farrell (Interference\, Once). There is nothing traditional about the record – or this dynamic duo. With tributes to Leonard Cohen\, John Lennon\, 50s & 60s era gold\, and what could be mistaken for a simple holiday record\, their catalog is an ever evolving\, genre-free wonder. 2023 saw them launch an all original folk opera about Pigeons(!) and the causes of housing insecurity. The Pigeon & The Dove premiered at the Vancouver Fringe Fest where they took home the prestigious Social Impact Award. In 2025 they made their US premiere in Seattle and Bellingham\, deep in the US/Canada trade war\, and are currently working on recording an album of original songs from the Pigeon for a late 2026 release. You won’t want to miss what they do next…

SUMMARY:Peerless
DESCRIPTION:Hilarious. Magnetic. Unhinged.\nPart of Ensemble Theatre Company’s 2026 Festival: Bloodlines. \nPeerless follows twin sisters M and L as they spiral through the absurd\, high-pressure theatre of elite college admissions. What begins as ambition curdles into obsession\, with every choice landing somewhere between strategy and disaster. Fast\, viciously funny\, and relentlessly watchable! \nEntertainment at its sharpest: ruthless\, funny\, and impossible to look away from. \nIn a moment when debates around affirmative action and “merit” continue to be reshaped and weaponised in public discourse\, Peerless cuts through with a bracing clarity: the stories we tell about fairness are not neutral: they’re constructed\, repeated\, and believed until they feel like fact. The play skewers those narratives with a comedian’s precision and a thriller’s momentum\, exposing how quickly “meritocracy” becomes myth-making. \nTalkback on July 15 after the 7:30 pm performance.\nJoin us for a brunch time performance before the matinee\, July 19th\, featuring Fistful of Crime Improv.

SUMMARY:A Streetcar Named Desire
DESCRIPTION:Iconic. Essential. Electric.\nPart of Ensemble Theatre Company’s 2026 Festival: Bloodlines. \nA cornerstone of 20th Century theatre\, A Streetcar Named Desire traces the unraveling of Blanche DuBois as she arrives in New Orleans to take shelter with her sister Stella and brother-in-law Stanley. Clashing realities\, desire\, and delusion collide in this emotionally charged drama\, revealing the fragility of identity and the harshness of truth in a changing world. \nIn turbulent and uncertain times\, this iconic play could not be more prescient as we witness a family moving towards new identities and fighting for their vision of the American Dream. Tennessee Williams’ play is a portrait of a woman caught between the demons of her past and prospect of a new life. \nTalkback performance July 12 after the 2:00 pm performance.\nJoin us for brunch time performances before matinee\, July 12th\, featuring singer Violet Grace.

SUMMARY:Palace
DESCRIPTION:Palace have been making music together for over a decade. What started out as carefree jam sessions between Leo Wyndham\, Rupert Turner and Matt Hodges in an airless studio in North London established a DIY ethos that remains intrinsic to the spirit of the band to this day. \nIn early 2025\, Palace took a career leap releasing the Greyhound EP on their own label\, Palace Presents – a collective they’d started in 2016 as a monthly night at The George Tavern in East London\, which had quietly grown into something more intentional. A positive and protected space as Leo described it\, away from the usual constraints of the music industry. \n“Kid” was released in April 2026\, together with the announcement of a 30-date tour of the USA and Canada in the Fall of 2026\, culminating in a show at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. \n“Kid is about longing for a child an ocean away. It’s the ache we feel for our people when we’re separated from them. It doesn’t feel like a sadness or heaviness\, but more an affirmation of that love\, a primal release sung into the sunset as the road flies by.” \nJoin us for Palace’s Chan Centre debut and experience their immersive sound brought to life on our stage.
