SUMMARY:Mary Shelley Meets a Monster
DESCRIPTION:Witty and sexy in equal measure\, Mary Shelley Meets a Monster invites guests into a stormy June in 1816\, when Mary Shelley and four companions decamp to a villa on Lake Geneva to invent a new genre of literature. \nIt begins simply enough as an evening spent rained in with some of the greatest creative minds in history\, but soon becomes a story about love\, sex\, creation\, ambition\, power\, and resurrecting the dead. \nThis 40-seat venue puts our audience right in Lord Byron’s drawing room; opulence\, opium\, crashing thunder\, and a comedy of manners in which all participants are equally flawed and fascinating. \nSpecial showings available for Halloween and sensory sensitivities; VIP tickets available. \nFollow our socials @dreamqueenimmersive\, or learn more at https://www.dreamqueenimmersive.com/villadiodati

SUMMARY:Puccini’s Electrifying Tosca
DESCRIPTION:A story of power\, passion\, and betrayal\, propelled by one of Puccini’s most emotionally charged scores\, Tosca delivers opera at its most thrilling. The story unfolds over a breathless 24 hours\, as celebrated singer Floria Tosca finds herself caught between the man she loves\, and a ruthless chief of police determined to possess her. Love\, jealousy\, artistic freedom\, corruption\, and personal sacrifice collide as Tosca is forced into an increasingly impossible confrontation with Scarpia. \n“Tosca is the fifth-most-performed opera in the world\, and we are thrilled to have this Puccini blockbuster return to our stage for the first time in 13 years\,” says Tom Wright\, Vancouver Opera General Director. “Working with Pacific Opera Victoria allows us to open our 67th season with a newly imagined production of a masterpiece by one of opera’s greatest composers. From its explosive opening chords to some of the most recognizable and emotionally powerful music in the operatic repertoire\, Tosca moves with the intensity of a political thriller.”

SUMMARY:Pippin the Musical
DESCRIPTION:Step into a world of ‘spectacle and unease’ with Play On Words Productions’ gritty reimagining of Stephen Schwartz’ Pippin\, February 26th-March 7th at the Jericho Arts Centre \nSet inside a decaying nightclub suspended between life and death\, Pippin is the story of one young man’s search for the secret to true happiness and fulfillment. He seeks it in the glories of battle\, the temptations of the flesh and the intrigues of political power. Dark\, raw\, and reckless\, this production is a haunting exploration of purpose and desire\, leaving the audience to wonder: would they choose the fire\, or walk away? \nCONTENT ADVISORY: This show includes mature themes\, sexual suggestion\, dramatized violence\, and sensory elements (lighting and sound). We recommend only those who 13+ attend. Viewer discretion is advised.

SUMMARY:Eastside Culture Crawl 30th Anniversary Preview Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate 30 years of the Eastside Culture Crawl at the 2026 Preview Exhibition\, P.A.R.T.Y. – Pushing Art diRectly To You\, from November 5–28\, 2026 at the Eastside Arts Society (716 E. Hastings St). For the first time\, 75 juried artists come together under one roof at the Society’s own space\, which serves as the central hub for the Crawl’s 30th anniversary celebrations. Since its beginnings in the mid-2000s\, the Preview Exhibition has offered a sneak peek at the range of art on display throughout the Crawl. This year’s edition returns to its single-venue roots\, guided by a selection panel of Crawl artists including Eri Ishii\, Hugh Kearney\, and Paul de Guzman. The title carries more than one meaning\, as a nod to the anniversary party\, and a reflection of the Crawl’s founding ethos: artists opening their own doors to the public and building a direct relationship between artist and audience. This retrospective exhibition highlights bold\, original works that embody endurance of practice\, place\, and vision. Full details at culturecrawl.ca/events.

SUMMARY:Dirt
DESCRIPTION:Presented by The Cultch\nProduced by Tentacle Tribe (Montreal) \nTranscending the boundaries between street and contemporary dance in a unique signature\, DIRT is a striking piece for five virtuoso performers. \nThrough its raw expression\, this creation is a critique of humanity’s conquering relationship with the planet. The quintet mixes puppets and movements in an unusual conceptual hip-hop. Choreographed by Elon Höglund\, this work is a profound meditation on our ancestral connection with the Earth.
