SUMMARY:FlyOver Canada: Windborne - Call of the Canadian Rockies
DESCRIPTION:FlyOver Canada’s new ride experience premiering in Vancouver is “Windborne: Call of the Canadian Rockies.” Featuring epic footage captured in the most remote areas of the Canadian Rocky Mountains\, the multi-sensory experience is anticipated to be featured in all FlyOver locations – Vancouver\, BC; Las Vegas\, Nevada; and Reykjavik\, Iceland. \nWindborne: Call of the Canadian Rockies makes its global debut in Vancouver this summer\, treating guests to a spectacular journey through snow-capped peaks\, turquoise lakes and picturesque valleys. Immersive and filled with multi-sensory adventure\, Windborne: Call of the Canadian Rockies spotlights areas that are unreachable to trekkers\, providing a rare glimpse into the most isolated and untouched areas of the mountain range. \nWindborne: Call of the Canadian Rockies was filmed on the traditional territories of the Nakoda\, Blackfoot\, Tsuut’ina and K’tunaxa Nations\, who have been stewards of these mountains since time immemorial. The flight ride includes an important Indigenous perspective of the mountain range\, which local Nations revere as “The Backbone of the World.” Through collaboration and involvement from the Indigenous community\, Windborne: Call of the Canadian Rockies weaves together the rich cultures and landscapes of the Canadian Rockies.

SUMMARY:Indian Summer Festival
DESCRIPTION:The Indian Summer Festival runs July 7 to 17\, and will feature the world’s most powerful thinkers on climate change and social justice\, a 2022 Grammy Award-winning musician\, a boundary-pushing dance performance\, a science-meets-art experience that brings you music from mushrooms\, doctors and healers forging new pathways in the complex art of healing\, award-winning filmmakers\, sitar maestros\, tabla wizards\, brass bands\, human-animal hip hop collaborations\, outdoor art installations\, Indigenous and South Asian DJs reclaiming their languages while making new ones. \nISF2022 events will be centered around the new Festival Hub\, Performance Works on Granville Island\, reclaiming South Asian presence in the Sen̓áḵw area on which the island now stands. It was once the heart of Vancouver’s South Asian community\, before the gentrification and displacement of South Asian people from this area of the city. We are so excited to announce that this year\, our distilled\, powerful lineup will speak to the theme of ‘Inner/Outer Climates’. \nSome of our deepest concerns today relate to the crisis of climate change. We are also\, increasingly\, seeing an awareness of the planet that is every human body. We address this with the rigor\, curiosity and enthusiasm that has always marked ISF. \nThere will be food for thought and for the stomach\, celebration and provocation. We’re honoured to present a galaxy of artists who lead us to examine and dream new ways of living our lives\, and to healing our inner and outer climates.
