The Canvas of Light and Sound – A Multi-Sensory Experience

February 22 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

$75

Prepare to immerse yourself in a one-of-a-kind sensory journey, blending live music, live painting, and mesmerizing digital visuals into a truly transformative experience. Following the overwhelming response to our sold-out January shows, The Canvas of Light and Sound returns with a new iteration at Notional Space on February 22.

This event brings together the soul-stirring live Oud and electronic soundscapes of Ahmed Maher, the jazz-infused trumpet melodies of Stuart Retallack, and the breathtaking live artistry of Tami Murray (mixed media painting) and Jessica Charter (digital projections).

This is not just a show – it’s a dialogue between sound and colour, a living, breathing performance where the lines between artist and audience blur. Each moment is unrepeatable, making this an unforgettable evening of creativity, connection, and immersive storytelling.

Event Highlights:

🎼 Live Music – The soulful Oud and electronic fusion of Ahmed Maher meets the evocative jazz Trumpet of Stuart Retallack.

🎨 Live Art in Motion – Experience Tami Murray’s live painting, unfolding in real-time, and Jessica Charter’s digital projections, seamlessly interacting with the music and inspiring the audience and the artists alike.

🍵 Tea Ceremony – A communal moment of serenity to enrich the experience.

🎭 Immersive Visuals – A multi-sensory interplay of sound, light, and colour.
💙 Supporting Art Education – The live painting created during the show will be auctioned, with 100% of the proceeds donated to the AIRS program, which funds art education for underserved elementary schools in Burnaby.
