Sisters in Jazz

Calling all women and non-binary music-lovers, musicians, and emerging artists for our annual Sisters in Jazz Day on March 8!
Join The Ostara Project – a collective of JUNO-winning and JUNO-nominated artists from across Canada – for an unforgettable day of jazz exploration and learning and connect with a community of like-minded musicians and mentors in a welcoming, supportive environment.
Through workshops, jam sessions, and mentoring, learn about:
– Jazz improvisation, composition, and rhythm
– How to find your unique musical voice
– Life as a professional musician
– Advice for album recording, touring, and grants
– The stories of women contributing to the brilliance of jazz
This event is open to students, teachers, and beginner/intermediate-level musicians of all ages. If you have 2+ years of experience or more on voice or an instrument—or are simply curious about how jazz works—this day is designed for you.
