Sins of the City Walking Tours
July 16, 2023 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm
The Vancouver Police Museum and Archives are excited to re-launch our Sins of the City walking tours! They will take you on a historical journey through Vancouver’s grittier past. Choose between two tours: Vice, Dice, & Opium Pipes or Soulfood & Strathcona. These tours are sure to keep you on your toes!
Available Saturday and Sunday at 12:30pm “Vice, Dice, & Opium Pipes” will take you on a journey through the vibrant Chinatown community, once the stomping grounds of gangs and corrupt city officials. Hear tales of corruption, crime, and entrepreneurship with key players like successful Chinese businessman Yip Sang, and Joe Celona, also known as Vancouver’s Al Capone.
“Soul Food and Strathcona”, available Saturday and Sunday at 3pm, explores the legacy of Strathcona’s Black and Italian communities. Hear tales of deadly encounters, beloved food joints, and prominent activists who sought to end discriminatory practices against immigrants and the poor.
A minimum booking of 4 is needed for tours to go ahead and tickets include museum admission.
