Join Doaa Magdy, filmmaker and founder of Vancouver’s first BIPOC horror film festival, Horror in Seconds, and Kayla Black, an emerging filmmaker, as they screen footage they have prepared for the upcoming festival and discuss their filmmaking process. You are also encouraged to attend Doaa’s 60 Second Horror Filmmaking workshop in the Inspiration Lab on Tuesday, October 24 from 6:30 – 8 pm.
The Horror in Seconds film festival aims to broaden representation and accessibility in filmmaking by breaking through the financial barriers that BIPOC artists face during the filmmaking process. It hopes to inspire more initiatives and opportunities for underrepresented and marginalized artists that face multiple systemic barriers so that they can bring their creative visions to life.
