Eloise in Love
November 2 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
$15“Eloise in Love” is a monologue play about female love, shamanism, past lives and sex work. It is based on a real-life love story of French sacred prostitute Eloise and German spy Camilla that happened in Paris on the eve of the Second World War. The play features the poems from the novel “Eurydice in Love,” based on the actual events of Alexander and Eurydice’s past lives. The authors invite the audience for an honest conversation about unconditional love, shamanism, past lives, the spiritual design of sex work, and why souls choose to be born as sexual healing artists.
The love story of Camilla and Eloise was cut short when Eloise, at the age of twenty-seven, was stabbed to death in an occult ritual by a demonically possessed man. Neither Camilla nor Eloise had a chance to tell each other they were the love of each other’s life (as both women shamed themselves for their unconventional love). Now, they received a divine chance to confess their feelings through Alexander and Eurydice, as two soulmates met in Vancouver of the twenty-first century to create this work of art and heal their past wounds through a shared shamanic education.
The play captures artistic expressions of love, but it’s also a deeply personal confession of both souls. In the first storytelling part of the play, Alexander shares how he was spiritually guided to move to Vancouver to become a shamanic apprentice under the guidance of the Sechelt Spirits and during the play would tell the history of these lands. He would explain how he works with the souls of living and dead and what kind of shamanic assistance he provides on their spiritual path. Exploring the knowledge from the four-year shamanic research into the divine design of sexual healing arts and the memories of his two past lives as a female sex worker, Alexander also presents his spiritual views on sex work and how this craft is woven into an evolutionary path of certain souls. He would also confess how the Sechelt Spirits guided him to meet seven souls of Vancouver escorts he knew in past lives and how unconditional love for them led him to assume his destined purpose of a spiritual guide and healer of the souls of British Columbia’s sex workers.
Eurydice, wearing a dress, takes charge in the second poetic part of the play. Through her rhymes, she confesses Eloise’s feelings for Camilla and shares her complex emotions from her experiences as a sex worker working the streets of Paris in 1930s. Each poem captures the personal and honest feelings of soulmates, but they are also medicine songs written in collaboration with the Spirits of Metro Vancouver to heal the wounds of these lands and empower the souls of noble female warriors.
The Sechelt Spirits consider this play as one of the final exams Alexander and Eurydice must pass to complete their four-year shamanic education.
About Authors
Alexander & Eurydice are two souls of one two-spirited soul-being on the path of ascension to become a spiritual guide of death, who chose to separate into a masculine and feminine soul eight centuries ago to experience the deepest states of grief available to humans. Now, they have arrived in their final life on Earth, merging to live in Alexander’s body, as they complete their evolutionary journey. During the play, Alexander completely surrenders his body to Eurydice so she can tell the story of Eloise in her own words and explore the complexities of their essence as she presents her feminine truth through a masculine body.
