A national gathering of Latinx theatre artists, Coyuntura is presented by Canadian Latinx Theatre Artist Coalition and SFU Woodward’s Cultural Programs. The only conference of its kind in Canada, it will feature two days of workshops, assemblies, pitch sessions, dance breaks, and chisme. The full weekend of programs will centre on the theme of self-identification in regard to nationality, ethnicity, and cultural competency.
Participating artists include Candelario Andrade, Mercedes Bátiz-Benét, Columpa Bobb, Tania Carter, Pedro Chamale, Marco Esccer, Lina de Guevara, Santiago Guzmán, and Mariló Núñez.
Coyuntura is designed to discuss Latinx voices and experiences, participation from non-Latinx allies is encouraged and international guests are welcomed.
