How do you feel about the representation of people with disabilities in the media?

On October 23rd, 2024, join us at Creekside Community Recreation Centre from 1:00 – 3:00 PM PT for our next Accessible Community Forum on Disability and the Media, to discover our community’s thoughts and experiences around representation and inclusivity in our current media culture.

This forum will address the representation of disabilities in the media. We will discuss important topics, such as fostering more diverse disability narratives, and how we can enhance honest representation within the media industry.

The panelists for the coming Accessible Community Forum include:

– HOST: Amy Amantea an Artist, Actor and Advocate for Persons with Disabilities
– Susanna Uchatius Artistic Director at Theatre Terrific
– Katie MacMillan Founder of Kello Inclusive
– Grant Hardy Producer at Accessible Media Inc.
– Tilly Nelson Photographer and avocate for equal representation
– Ladan Sahraei Iranian-Canadian deaf actress, director and filmmaker

Your input is crucial in driving positive change within the landscape of media representation in Canada. Let’s work together to create a more inclusive and empowering environment for all members of our community.
Thank you for your participation, and we look forward to seeing you at the forum!

You are the expert of your experience. Be heard.
